Childrens Church

A Word From
Pastor Tim

Childrens church is lead by Corey and Nikki Mitchell who have a heart for God and for children experiencing the power and the authority that He has given all of us through Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Their heart is to train up the young people in the things of God and to equip them with the word and the tools to produce the fruit of the spirit and to mature in the Lord. We expect and want the children to learn at a young age that there isn't a junior Holy Spirit and the same power that raised Christ from the dead lives in them. We encourage the young people to find and use the gifts God has put in them and cultivate those giftings in them.

Saul said to David, “Go, and the Lord be with you.”Then Saul dressed David in his own tunic. He put a coat of armor on him and a bronze helmet on his head.  David fastened on his sword over the tunic and tried walking around, because he was not used to them.“I cannot go in these,” he said to Saul, “because I am not used to them.” So he took them off. Then he took his staff in his hand, chose five smooth stones from the stream, put them in the pouch of his shepherd’s bag and, with his sling in his hand, approached the Philistine.Meanwhile, the Philistine, with his shield bearer in front of him, kept coming closer to David. He looked David over and saw that he was little more than a boy, glowing with health and handsome, and he despised him.  He said to David, “Am I a dog, that you come at me with sticks?” And the Philistine cursed David by his gods.  “Come here,” he said, “and I’ll give your flesh to the birds and the wild animals!”David said to the Philistine, “You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. This day the Lord will deliver you into my hands, and I’ll strike you down and cut off your head. This very day I will give the carcasses of the Philistine army to the birds and the wild animals, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel.  All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the Lord saves; for the battle is the Lord’s, and he will give all of you into our hands.” As the Philistine moved closer to attack him, David ran quickly toward the battle line to meet him.  Reaching into his bag and taking out a stone, he slung it and struck the Philistine on the forehead. The stone sank into his forehead, and he fell facedown on the ground. So David triumphed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone; without a sword in his hand he struck down the Philistine and killed him.

1 Sam 17:38-50

We are in the greatest times the earth has ever known. We have the opportunity to use the gifts and callings of God that He has put in us to reach the multitudes and see a great harvest. The fields are ripe and we can see mighty things happen in these days if we will fill ourselves with the love and compation of Jesus. John 1 says that in the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God...In Him was life and that life was the light of all mankind. We are consumed more and more with the love of Jesus as we spend time in the word because we are spending time in Him. We become patient and kind and unselfish and all the things that 1 Cor. 13 talks about of love because God is love and we begin to look and act more and more like Jesus as we spend more and more time with him. You begin to look like and reflect the very thing you are staring and gazing at. I encourage you to begin to spend more time with Jesus and begin to fall in love with Him and who He is. It will change you and your perspective on life.
